Well hello folks! Yeah I know I forget to update this thing and I really wish I didn't. That way I wouldn't have to post such long updates. So let's get down to the nitty gritty then shall we?
As you can see from the above picture we've added yet another pet to the fold here at home. His name is Petrie and he's a Green Budgie (Parakeet). We're pretty sure it's a "he" but we won't be positive until he's a little older and the thing above his nose changes color. Blue he's a boy pink he's a girl. Either way he's pretty neat to have around.
Secondly I'm now a Microsoft Certified Professional. After many years of putting it off I finally took the MCP exam and passed with an 842 score. Now I've got 6 more tests and I'll be a MCSE. Then I'll be making the big bucks.
Let's see what else? Oh I've decided to take the plunge and make the switch to Linux. I chose Ubuntu as my distribution as it's considered the best distro out there right now. So far I'm pretty impressed with it. Installation was pretty easy. I ran into only one problem while initially installing it, which was easily fixed but a simple apt-get of my video card drivers and it's been rocking every since. There's almost nothing I can't do on Ubuntu that I can do on Windows. I can use my ipod, digital camera, and PDA just like I did on Windows. The only I'm booting into Windows for lately is to play GuildWars and that's about it. Once I work out the problem with Cedega and XGL I'll be playing that in Ubuntu as well. I'm actually typing this up on Firefox on Ubuntu. Speaking of XGL, I stumbled upon the beauty that is XGL/Beryl while browsing the Ubuntu forums. So you're all excited for Windows Vista to come out? Vista doesn't hold a candle to what you can do with/to your desktop when you run XGL/Beryl. I can't really explain it so I'll just show you with this video:
That's not my computer but I can do all the same things and then some. Pretty sweet huh? Well I think that's about all I've got for now. Until then take care of yourselves.
