Blog Revamp Coming Soon

Since I finally took the plunge, and deleted my Facebook account, I'll be redesigning this site and updating it more frequently. Check back here in the coming days to see how things are shaping up.

Was I a gaming God when I was younger?

Now that I'm pushing 30, in a fit of nostalgia I bought several of the old style games from the Wii shop channel, such as, Mega Man 9, Contra Rebirth, Gradius Rebirth, etc. Man do you lose your edge as you get older. I can remember finishing Contra in maybe a days time. Now here it is my 5th day of playing it and I still can't get past the 3rd boss. Same thing goes with Mega Man. It took me the better part of a day just to struggle my way to reach and take out Galaxy Man. As much as these games frustrate me today I almost can't believe I enjoyed playing these difficulty fests as a kid. Has anyone else come to this realization too?

Samba Trails Ride

Rode with Randy, Duane, and Kevin Null. Did the entire loop that SAMBA created over in Swatara creek park. Kevin's bike didn't fare so well but he did pretty good for having a craptacular bike. Duane's definitely improving as well.

DragonCon 2008!

Well, here's the weekend update I've promised! JC and I have driven all day yesterday and finally are here in Atlanta Georgia. Right now we're getting ready to head down to the convention and start wandering around looking at all the geeky things.

Update 9/2/08:

Alright I'm back from DragonCon and finally have a chance to get the site updated. We were just too busy doing all the nerdy stuff there was to do to bother with updating the post. I'm sitting at work now and I'm still recovering from all the walking and geeking out that happened this weekend. Got to see so many cool things and people. The highlight for me was seeing lots of celebrities I see so often on TV in the flesh, and getting a chance to chat with George Takei and getting his autograph. If we plan on going back in the future we'll definitely have to make our stay last the entire four days of the convention. There's just way to much to see and do to try and cram it into just Saturday and Sunday. Now that I'm no longer a convention virgin I'm looking forward to next year's DragonCon and other events as well. Hopefully I'll be back from my military training in time for most of them. We'll have to see what happens I guess. I didn't get a ton of photos taken since JC and I were too busy gawking at all the people and things on the convention floor. Luckily, many other people did take loads of photos. Just hop on Picasa's Web Albums and search "DragonCon 2008". You'll get more results than you'll be able to sit and look through. You can find my small album of photos I took here.

New Post Coming This Weekend

I'll throw up a new post here shortly. Just been really busy lately and have had no time to update. At least I'll have a lot to discuss I suppose.

My Shoulder Hurts

So, after some smooth talking by Scotty Barry, I've decided to start turkey hunting again. Since I've long sold all my firearms I had to go out and purchase a new shotgun before turkey season. I took a trip down to BassPro in Harrisburg and it just so happened they are having their spring hunting sale. After looking around I finally decided on a Mossberg 535 ATS Turkey 12 guage.
It's a sweet looking shotgun and it only set me back 270 bucks. So the other day Jared and I went up to the Greenland parking lot to pattern the new gun. All I have to say is ouch! I shot a half dozen rounds, 3 three inch mags, 3 three and a half inch mags, and my should is black and blue. It shoots great though. I was at 40+ yards and was still putting well over twenty shot into the head and neck of the target. I can't wait to get upstate later this spring with Scott and the fellas and bag me a gobbler.

Wakeup: A Speech for Humanity

In this clip we will see a speech given by Chaplin which was written by him. He would later give thoughts on the words he wrote and would often refer to this scene as the ‘Speech for Humanity’.
